Fire Chief Jon Kinn shares March 3 "state of the department" program
The Bluffton Lions Club will host Fire Chief Jon Kinn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, for a state of the Bluffton Fire Department presentation. The meeting will take place on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall. The public is invited to attend.
Kinn says that he will discuss funding updates that became effective with the new Safety Services income tax approved in 2024. He notes that the Fire Department is still all-volunteer, while EMS services have both full-time and volunteer crew members.
The Bluffton Fire Department is looking for new volunteers. In the State of Ohio, a person must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent to take the Ohio Fire test. You must also attend a 36-hour Basic Fire Course and pass the State of Ohio test.
Any person wishing to join the Bluffton Fire Department may contact any Bluffton Firefighter to obtain an application.
