Elizabeth Hartzler honored as February 2026 BHS Student of the Month

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton High School proudly recognizes Elizabeth (Ellie) Hartzler as the February 2026 Student of the Month. Ellie is a senior with a 4.00 GPA. She is the daughter of Greg and Laura Hartzler of Bluffton.

An accomplished student, Ellie has been deeply involved in the performing arts throughout her high school career. She is a four-year member of the BHS flag corps and has served as team captain for the past two years. Ellie also participates in band, choir, strings and show choir, demonstrating her passion for music across multiple ensembles. 

A talented vocalist, Ellie is a member of the a cappella group One Voice. She has been involved in solo and ensemble competition for four years and was selected as a member of the District 3 Honors Choir for three years. 

In addition to her musical achievements, Ellie is a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Club and Drama Club. She is also a three-year participant of the BHS girls soccer team. 

Ellie’s academic accomplishments are equally impressive. She has received academic awards in Latin I and American History and is a recipient of both the Governor’s Merit Scholarship and the Ohio University Premier Scholarship. During high school, she has taken College Credit Plus courses through the University of Findlay, Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University.

Outside of school, Ellie works at Studio Silhouette and Suter Produce. She is a member of the First Mennonite Church and frequently volunteers at Camp Friedenswald with youth campers.

Following graduation, Ellie plans to attend Ohio University, where she will major in marketing.
