Sam M. Halcomb was a U.S. veteran

Sam M. Halcomb,84, passed away March 11, 2026, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Sam was born April 27, 1941, in Whitesburg, KY, to Finley and Martha Mae (Madden) Halcomb, who preceded him in death. On July 8, 1967, he married Joyce Young Halcomb, who survives.
Sam was a self-employed drywaller by trade and a proud veteran. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Halcomb of Bluffton; five children, Sammie (Angie) Halcomb of Bluffton, Kyle (Melanie) Halcomb of Mt. Blanchard, Chris Halcomb of Bluffton, Shane (Jennifer) Halcomb of Bluffton, Michele Guthrie of Lima; seven granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
A burial will take place in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery – Jenera at a date and time to be determined.
