Larry Eugene Barrett worked at Tower Automotive
Larry Eugene Barrett, 75, passed away March 16, 2026, at 9:59 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Larry was born January 12, 1951, in Lima to the late Charles and Waneta (Crouse) Barrett. On September 7, 1975, he married Sheila Luginbuhl Barrett, who survives.
Larry graduated from Allen East High School. He had been a dairy farmer and worked at A & P in Lima. Most of his life, though, he worked at Tower Automotive in Bluffton. Larry enjoyed restoring tractors, bow hunting, gardening, collecting John Deere lawn mowers and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Barrett of Columbus Grove; six children, Angela (Mike) Ream of Elida, Elizabeth (Brad) Wingate of Bluffton, Valerie (Brad) Bloomfield of Lafayette, Sarah (Jim) Downing of Waynesfield, Daughter, Crystal (Dan) Camper of Bluffton and Bradley Barrett of Columbus Grove; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandson and two sisters, Doris Griffith of Wapakoneta and Peggy Barrett of Lima.
Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Barrett and three sisters, Leota Cook, Marilyn Wren and Betty Hole.
A celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a later date.
