Bluffton girls win track tri meet at Kenton

Miller takes 3 events, Rehm and Suter win 2

KENTON__The Bluffton High School girls track and field team won a triangular meet hosted by Kenton at Robinson Field on Tuesday, April 21.

The Pirate girls scored 80 points to easily outdistance host Kenton (45) and Marion Harding (44).

Harding won the boys meet with 64 points, just ahead of Kenton (60.5). The Pirate boys scored 50.5 points.

GIRLS RESULTS
Bluffton sophomore standout Maelee Miller swept to first in the 100 (13.17) and 200-meter (26.95) races. Junior teammate Gracie Warren came in third in both races.

Miller also came in first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.37). Senior teammate Aubrey Burkholder was second at 17.76.

Burkholder then won the 300 hurdles in a time of 51.03.

Senior thrower Lizzy Suter swept the shot put (31-10.5) and discus (96-10) events.

Pirate junior Bekah Rehm won the pole vault (9-0) and long jump (14-3.25) events.

Warren, Mallory Blackburn, Lauren Dearth and Miller sped to first in the 4x200 relay in 1:52.94.

Warren and Tessa Tarplee tied for second in the high jump (4-4).

BOYS RESULTS
Pirate junior Kizer Young won the 100-meter dash (11.73) and took second in the 200 meters (24.12).

Freshman Kohen Anderson won the 400 meters (54.59), just ahead of Young in second (54.93) and Ethan Sprunger (56.46).

Freshman Jax Ewing captured first in the 110 high hurdles in 18.8.

Pirate freshman Tanner Hirsch won the high jump with a best leap of 5-10.

Junior Owen Scoles took second in the shot put (42-6.5), and he was also second in the discus (127-2).
