Pirate boys tennis win vs. Bryan

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys tennis team defeated visiting Bryan 4-1 in a match on Thursday, April 23.

The Pirates improved to 6-2-1 after the decisive win. They won all three singles matches in straight sets.

Bluffton senior Grady Coonfare handily dispatched Kai Dauber 6-1, 6-0 at first singles.  

Pirate senior Isaiah Kohli beat Nolan Franzdorf 7-6, 6-4 at second singles.

At third singles, Nick Lovett downed Brendan Roberts 6-3, 6-4.

Pirate sophomores Micah Lemley and Ezra Nygaard defeated the Bryan duo of Kellogg and Montalvo 6-2, 6-2 at second doubles.

At first doubles, Bryan’s DeWitt and Deel edged Pirates Hudson Phillips and Toby Yarnell by a 7-5, 6-4 score.

The Pirates were slated to play at Archbold on Friday. 

Bluffton hosts local rival Ada (0-4) on Monday, April 27. The Bulldogs lost 3-2 at LCC on Thursday.
