In the video below, Bluffton Icon founder and historian Fred Steiner presents Our Swiss Story, a program originally made on April 19, 2026 spring meeting of the Swiss Community Historical Society at the Schumacher Homestead and Swiss Heritage Center.

Steiner provides an overview of a new publication that includes the biographical writings of P.B. Amstutz and new chapters by Steiner. Amstutz primarily focused on the Swiss Mennonites and on men who brought families to or established families in the Swiss Settlement near Bluffton and Pandora, Ohio. One hundred years after Amstutz, Steiner has added information on the Swiss Reformed community as well as about women from these families.

The book will be available through the Swiss Community Historical Society. Information on purchasing the book will be posted on www.swisshistorical.org.
