Pirate girls win track quad at Minster

MINSTER__The Bluffton High School girls track and field team won a four-team meet at Minster on Tuesday, April 28.
Bath edged St. Henry 76-71 to claim the boys meet title. Minster was a close third (66), while the Pirate boys were fourth (41).
GIRLS RESULTS
The Pirate girls nosed out host Minster 73.5 to 70.5 points to capture the meet. St Henry finished a close third with 62 points, while Bath was last at 28.
The Pirate girls 4x200 relay quartet of Gracie Warren, Maddie Shepherd, Lauren Dearth and Ava Smallcombe won in a time of 1:56.94.
Bluffton’s Lizzy Suter took first in the shot put with a best toss of 33-6.
Pirate Megan Follas captured the discus with a best throw of 103-1. She was also second in the shot put (30-6.75).
Freshman Addalynn Rettig came in second in the 400 meters (69.61). Freshman Georgi Hagen ended up second in the 1600 meters (6:15.2). Freshman Liliana Fleming finished second in the 300 hurdles (48.17).
Junior Bekah Rehm took second in the pole vault (9-6).
BOYS RESULTS
Pirate junior Kizer Young took second in the 100 meters (11.39). Freshman Atticus Prothro crossed the line second in the 3200 (11:12.14).
Sophomore Braxton Smallwood came in second in the 100 meter high hurdles (18.75). Freshman Tanner Hisch ended up second in the high jump with a best leap of 5-8.
Freshman Kohen Anderson finished third in the 400 meters (54.43). Junior Adam Fritsch was third in the 1600 (5:30.05).
