Ring honored as 2026 Outstanding Alumni at Rhodes State College
MAY 1 MEDIA RELEASE__Since 1988, Rhodes State College has annually recognized one alumnus who has been exemplary in their career, service to community, and to the College with the Outstanding Alumni Award. The 2026 Rhodes State College Outstanding Alumni Award recipient is Greg Ring of Bluffton, who is a 1982 graduate of the former Lima Technical College, now Rhodes State College.
Over the past four decades, Ring has built a remarkable career rooted in leadership excellence, strategic vision and a deep dedication to helping individuals and organizations reach their full potential.
As President and Founder of GR Consulting, he works with companies of all sizes, including Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations, guiding them in leadership development, culture building, communication and organizational effectiveness.
Before establishing his consulting firm, Ring graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bluffton University, held leadership roles at UPS, Perry Corporation, MetoKote Corporation/PPG, K&M Tire, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company and Marathon Petroleum Corporation. He also served as the Dana Chair—Executive in Residence—at the University of Findlay’s College of Business, sharing his industry knowledge with future business leaders.
Ring continues to invest in his community through board service, mentoring and pro bono coaching. His life and career reflect the values of Rhodes State College: service, integrity, and a passion for lifelong learning.
Reflecting on his time with LTC (Rhodes State), Ring said, “My days at LTC provided a great foundation for a career in business, building relationships, managing people and dedication to lifelong learning. Our instructors were very engaged and accessible for questions and many of them had personal career achievements and backgrounds that really brought the classroom learning to life. They invested in us and took personal interest in us.”
