Bluffton Senior Center travel opportunities
FROM BSC NEWSLETTER__The Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. is signing up members for the following Coach Trips with Tonya and Bus Trips with Debbie. Trip activity levels are explained below.
COACH TRIPS WITH TONYA
Scavenger Hunt Trip | June 3
Departs 6:45 a.m. Come visit the American Sign Museum and Jungle Jim’s International Market. We will have a guided tour of both AND have a scavenger hunt. In between we will have a yummy lunch at Tickle Pickle. Cost is $125 due at sign up. Level 3 lots of walking. Last day May 1.
Wonders of Iceland | July 9-18, 2026
We will travel the whole island nation. We will see icebergs, hot springs and waterfalls. Watch your mail for your final info. Call Tonya if you have any questions.
Route 66 Centennial | September 2-13, 2026
Honoring 100 years of America’s Most Iconic Highway! The legendary “Mother Road” that embodies discovery and the spirit of the open road. Journey from the Pacific Coast to Chicago, tracing the historic path that shaped a generation. Along the way, enjoy nostalgic diners, quirky road side attractions and classic mom-and-pop stops that capture the golden age of travel. Price starts at $3999 per double occupancy. Brochures available at the Senior Center. Trip is a level 3 because of long days. Must have a Real ID to fly.
BUS TRIPS WITH DEBBIE
*NEW* Ashland Historical Trip | Wednesday, August 5
Departs at 7:45 a.m. Join us for an eventful day of history and fun. We will stop at Grandpa’s Cheese Barn on our way to the Ashland County Historical Society for a tour. Lunch will be included at the Der Dutchman. Our last stop will be at the Beyond Measure Market, a non-profit organization that supports former Amish women transitioning to a new life. Cost is $107 due at sign up. Level 2/3. First day to sign up will be May 14. Last day will be July 7.
*NEW* LaComedia Dinner Theatre, “Come from Away” | Thursday, September 17
Departs at 9 a.m. Experience the heartwarming true story of “Come from Away”. This production honors the 25th anniversary of the day the world stopped on September 11, 2001 and the kindness shown by an isolated Canadian town in the days to follow. Cost is $120 due at sign up. Level 1 (let us know at sign-up if you don’t want to do stairs) First day to sign up is May 18. Last day is August 10.
Mystery Theater | Friday, May 8
Trip departs at 3:30 p.m. Taking standby.
Historic Marietta and Blennerhassett Island | May 20-21, 2026
Trip departs at 9 a.m. Name tags, luggage tags and itineraries will be available to pick up at the Senior Center on May 18.
Washington D.C.-Monuments, Memorials and More | June 16-19
This trip includes three nights of hotel accommodations in the Washington D.C. area with breakfast each morning and three additional meals, including a waterfront dinner at Washington Harbor. Two days with guides to tour the monuments and memorials. A guided visit to Arlington National Cemetery with tram transportation includes JFK’s gravesite and eternal flame and the Changing of the Guard. Also, admission to the Museum of the Bible and free time on the National Mall for exploring the Smithsonian Museums and a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol (subject to availability). Cost is $932 per double occupancy, due at sign up. Level 3 for lots of walking. Last day to sign up is May 4.
Toledo Mud Hens | Tuesday, June 30
Departs at 10:30 a.m. Catch a lasting memory when you join in on the fun of Senior Day with the ‘World Famous’ Toledo Mud Hens! We will have a traditional Hot Dog along with chips and a pop for lunch. After the game we will stop for ice-cream included in the price! (Guests are permitted bags no larger than 16 x 16 x 8 inches) Cost is $100.00 due at sign up. Level 1-2 (minimal stairs to seat) Last day to sign up is May 21.
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens | Wednesday, July 22
Departing at 9 a.m. Step inside one of America’s finest historic estates with a guided tour of the magnificent Manor House at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. After the tour, we will have some time to explore the beautiful garden and grounds on our own. Next, we will enjoy a delightful two-hour journey aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad in Ohio’s only National Park. Boxed lunch included. Please bring money for supper on your own. Cost is $170.00 due at sign up. Level 3 (Flights of Stairs) Last day to sign up is June 4.
