VAN WERT__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a key three-set league match to Northwest Conference rival Lincolnview on Tuesday evening, Sept. 29.

The opponents entered the battle with almost identical overall and league records.

The Pirate girls fell to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in NWC play with the 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 defeat.

The Lancers improved to 11-5 overall and 4-1 in the NWC after the win that vaulted them into a second-place tie in the league standings with Columbus Grove behind Crestview (4-0).

The following Village of Bluffton meetings have been scheduled and will be held at Town Hall:

Pedestrian Pathway Board on Thursday, October 1 at noon.

Tree Commission on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Council Meeting on Monday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Utilities Committee on Monday, October 19 at 4:30 p.m.

MEDIA RELEASE__ Bluffton University will celebrate Homecoming and Alumni Weekend Oct. 2-4, honoring 100 years of being Beavers. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends of the university are invited to return to campus for a weekend of celebration, connection and tradition.

Here comes October 2026 and a month full of Bluffton Public Library events and activities. The library's newsletter, below, lists all programs for children, youth and adults.

Deadline October 1 / Prizes announced

MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) and the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) invite photographers of all experience levels to showcase the beauty, character, and community spirit of Bluffton through the 2026 Bluffton Photo Competition.

There will be cash prizes for the top three photo selections. First place: $500, Second place: $300; Third place: $200. 

Deadline to submit to Bluffton's Photo Competition is this Thursday, October 1.
