FROM FACEBOOK__The 12th annual Bluffton Ride to Remember, a Bluffton Lions Club fundraising and awareness campaign to benefit the Bluffton bike and pedestrian pathways, has a new starting point: The Sommer Center at Bluffton University.

Riders will park and check in at the Sommer Center on Rosenberger Drive, Bluffton (north campus entrance from Elm St.).

The in-person ride takes cyclists through the Village of Bluffton, Ohio, and the scenic surrounding countryside, with routes passing through Gilboa, Pandora, Ottawa, Rawson, and other nearby towns.

Wright sweeps sprints, Matthews dominates distance runs

SPENCERVILLE__The Bluffton High School girls and boys track and field teams both finished a strong second at the annual eight-team Northwest Conference championship meet on Friday, May 15.

Columbus Grove swept both team titles. The CG girls scored 202 points to finish ahead of the second-place Pirate girls, who scored 140. Lincolnview nipped Spencerville for third, 98-97.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School baseball team shut out visiting non-conference foe Cory-Rawson 10-0 on Friday, May 15.

The Pirates scored the first run in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on a single score in the second frame. 

Bluffton blew the game open by plating five runs in the home half of the third to build a 7-0 lead. The Pirates pushed across three scores in the fourth inning to invoke the 10-run mercy rule with a shutout a half-inning later.

Police Chief Ryan Burkholder has issued the Bluffton Police Department activity summary for April 2026. With 738 total calls for service, the department conducted 29 traffic stops and responded to five criminal complaints, including 1 warrant, 2 miscellaneous, 1 criminal damaging and 1 sex offense. 

FROM FACEBOOK__The Bluffton High School Leo Club 5K Run/1 Mile Walk & Stroll on Saturday, May 23 will support the Lions Club's all-abilities playground project at the new Bluffton Legacy Park. 

You are invited to Salzman Stadium at Bluffton University on Saturday, May 23, at 9:00 a.m. for a special community event. Whether you run, walk, or ride, everyone is welcome to participate in this all-abilities 5K and 1-mile walk.

Participation is $5 per person; 12 and under are free.
