Carolyn Sue (Ungericht) Corle, 95, of Van Wert, died on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Vancrest of Van Wert.

She was born on June 18, 1931, in Connersville, Indiana, to Frank and Eva Ungericht, who preceded her in death. On June 28, 1951, she married Jack Edward Corle, who also preceded her in death.

She retired from Ohio Northern University, where she served as Director of Off-Campus Housing. She had formerly worked for the Hamilton County School District and had been a doctor's assistant in Ansonia, Ohio.

MEDIA RELEASE__Raj Biyani, chief innovation officer at Goshen College, will present “Demystifying AI Through a Liberal Arts Lens: An Introduction” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Biyani will explore artificial intelligence through the perspective of a liberal arts education, connecting the technology to history, geography and politics.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost a tough three-setter to visiting Shawnee in a non-league match on Monday, August 24.

The Pirate girls fell to 1-2 after the defeat. Shawnee improved to 1-1 with the 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 win.

Camryn Fruchey led Bluffton with eight kills. Karlie Lora knocked down seven kills. Lora also served up two aces and came up with three blocks.            

Gracie Warren smacked five kills and mustered up 14 digs. Taylin Goldman contributed five kills.

DELPHOS__The Bluffton High School boys golf team went on the road and won a Northwest Conference triangular match on Monday, Aug. 24 at the Delphos Country Club course.

The Pirates shot 178 to beat Lima Central Catholic by nine strokes (187), and they decisively beat host Delphos Jefferson by 41 shots (219). 

Bluffton improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with the wins. LCC is 3-4 and 3-2 in league play, while Jefferson drops to 1-8 overall and 1-5 in NWC play after the losses.
