DATE CORRECTED / MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University will host its annual Civic Engagement Day on April 8, bringing together students, faculty and staff to explore the importance of active citizenship, community involvement and social responsibility. The event will take place across campus and feature a variety of presentations, discussions and interactive experiences centered on civic life.

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University will present the spring play “Little Women” by Kate Hamill April 16-19 in Ramseyer Auditorium, College Hall. 

There’s a lot of excitement around the spring play based on Louisa May Alcott’s beloved American novel “Little Women.” “When I announced the title last fall, theatre students actually shouted with joy!” said director Melissa Friesen.

MEDIA RELEASE__ The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Executive Order 11988, is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed projects:

U.S. 30 bridge painting, Allen County (PID: 119059)

ODOT is proposing to perform bridge painting on both structures (eastbound and westbound) of U.S. 30 over the Ottawa River in Allen County.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School softball team lost 7-4 to visiting Elida on a chilly Monday evening, April 6.

The Bulldogs led 4-3 after six innings, then plated three big runs in the top of the seventh to give themselves some breathing room. Bluffton scored once in the home seventh, but came up three short.

The Pirate girls fell to 1-2 with the non-league defeat. Elida improved to 2-2 after the win.

DEFIANCE__The visiting Bluffton High School boys tennis team swept Defiance 5-0 on a windy, chilly Monday evening, April 6.

The Pirates improved to 2-0 with the win by taking 10 of the 11 sets. Defiance fell to 1-2 after the defeat.

Bluffton senior Grady Coonfare won 6-4, 6-0 at first singles.

Senior Isaiah Kohli rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles.

Sophomore Toby Yarnell won handily at third singles by a 6-2, 6-2 count.
