Award-winning author Mindy McGinnis speaks at Bluffton Public Library
FROM BPL UPDATES__Author Mindy McGinnis will be speaking at Bluffton Public Library on Tue., Jun. 16 at 6:00 p.m. The event is open to adults & teens. Register online or in person.
McGinnis is an Edgar award-winning novelist of YA and adult novels written across multiple genres, including Not a Drop to Drink, A Madness So Discreet, and Heroine. A former school librarian, she and her work have been featured on NPR and PBS, as well as a number of podcasts. McGinnis will discuss her book Under This Red Rock, which takes place in the cavern systems of Ohio. The book takes a hard look at mental illness and the struggles that go with it.
McGinnis will share her own personal battles, express the importance of speaking out about mental health and removing the stigma, and how this was all worked into the novel. Books available for purchase ($15/20) following the presentation. Cash/card/all apps accepted as payment.
