Rolling and brushing of the new artificial turf practice field at the Bluffton Schools were underway on Monday, November 17. The field has a 40-yard midfield line and a big Bluffton Pirate at the center. While the field looks temptingly close to being ready, there are still some elements to be installed. MEDIA RELEASE__Laurel Neufeld Weaver, assistant professor of social work and MSW field education co-director at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, "Activating Resilience: Creating the Trauma-Informed Classroom," at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, in Centennial Hall's Stutzman Lecture Hall.
Neufeld Weaver will explore classroom strategies rooted in trauma-informed practices designed to foster resilience, equity and healing-centered learning environments for all students.
MEDIA RELEASE__"Battling for Bikes" from Bluffton Elementary School earned first place in the Health Action Council Healthy Kids Fall Step It Up Challenge. Team members Jaime Combs, Heidi Steiner and Ryan Dunlap won $1,500 for their school and averaged 808,262 steps.
This Thursday, November 20 is the last official meeting of Women in Business for 2025. The event is at 7 p.m. on the third floor on Town Hall, where the group will gather over cookies to hear and learn from each other.
The program is all about your business and what you care to share. Each participant has up to 3 minutes to talk about whatever they care to share about themselves and their business.

Sue Ellen Sandy, 68, passed away on November 15, 2025, at Vancrest of Delphos. Sue was born on March 18, 1957, in Lima. Her parents, Lloyd and Mary (Mayor) Klett, preceded her in death.
Sue worked at International Brake in Lima. Although not a member, she would faithfully watch Lima Baptist Temple's services every Sunday. After retirement, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.
