MEDIA RELEASE__For Bluffton University alumni working in chaplaincy, vocation is found in the relationships they build, the care they provide and the opportunity to support people through life's most difficult moments. During a NetVUE panel, four alumni shared their experiences working in health care and senior living, offering students insight into the many ways a calling can take shape.
MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton Presbyterian Church invites the community to join in a Socktober drive throughout October and provide new socks for individuals and families who need them most. Donations of new socks in any size and style are welcome, from socks for young children to socks for adults.
Socks collected through the drive will be distributed through the Bluffton Community Assistance Program and Family Promise of Northwestern Ohio, which serves families experiencing homelessness in Lima-Allen County and beyond.
VAN WERT__The Bluffton High School boys and girls cross country team competed at the annual Ohio Health Invitational meet at the Van Wert Fairgrounds course on Saturday, Sept. 26.
BOYS
Pirate sophomore Atticus Prothro was the top Bluffton boys finisher. He crossed the finish line 28th with a time of 18:04.7.
Junior Levin Essinger came in 38th at 18:31.9. Junior Toby Clevidence ended up 51st in 18:57. Sophomore Micah Dimarco finished 92nd with a time of 20:09.06.
LIMA__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost to Elida 3-0 in a non-league match on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The Pirate girls fell to 5-6 with the road loss.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-0-2 after the clean-sheet win.
Elida scoring ace Lexie Good tallied in the 28th and 38th minutes to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 halftime lead. Kylee Wallace added a late goal in the 79th minute on an assist by Savannah Swickrath.
