Rumpke trash and recycling guidelines for Bluffton, July 2026
The Village of Bluffton provided the following trash and recycling guidelines with July 2026 utility bill mailings.
Service Day
Please place material at the curb the night before scheduled collection.
Holiday Schedule
Rumpke observes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
If your service day falls on or after these holidays, collection will be delayed by one day that week.
Billing
Residents will be billed individually by the Village of Bluffton.
Cart Placement Guidelines
To ensure your material is collected, please follow these guidelines:
1. Please bag all trash prior to placing in the cart. Recycling should be placed in container loose. Material should be fully contained within cart with the lid closed. If you have bulk items, call Rumpke Customer Service to get them scheduled for pick up.
2 . Face the opening toward the street (face handle away).
3. Place carts within 3 feet of the street and 3 feet from obstructions such as mailboxes, parked cars, utility poles, and other waste and recycling containers.

• HAVE A BULK ITEM? Improperly prepared or registered bulk items will not be removed. Construction materials, including drywall, concrete, bricks, dirt or rocks are not acceptable.
• According to federal law, Rumpke is not permitted to accept batteries, tires, liquids, combustible materials or any items identified as hazardous. Please contact the local solid waste district for disposal options at 1-800-553-6763 (North Central Ohio Solid Waste).
