Each Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in Ohio is run by an unpaid board of five supervisors, each serving a three-year term. These supervisors lead staff in carrying out conservation programs in their counties. Supervisor elections are special elections held separately from general elections. They occur every year and are managed by the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission (OSWCC) under rules in Chapters 119 and 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Staff from the Ohio Department of Agriculture, officially assigned, manage local SWCD supervisor elections for the OSWCC.
This year, two candidates are running for two open positions on the Allen Soil and Water Conservation District Board. If you are a resident of Allen County and are interested in running in next year's election, please contact Casey at 419-228-0846 or visit allenswcd.com for more information.
