Pirate boys golf 10th at L-B Invite

FINDLAY__The Bluffton High School golf team finished 10th out of 11 teams in the tough Liberty-Benton Invitational at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay on Friday, August 7.

Van Buren won the tournament with 319 strokes, with the Pirates 48 shots off their pace. 

Host Liberty-Benton came in second just three strokes behind Van Buren at 322, followed by Sylvania Southview (324), Upper Sandusky (334), Allen East (337) and Bellevue (340).

Carey finished seventh (348), followed by Fort Loramie (357), Lima Central Catholic (359), Bluffton (367) and Arlington (380).

Ethan Fifer and Gibson Meyer each shot an 89 to pace the Pirates.

Owen Brauen carded a 94. Landon Byers and Caleb Fifer posted rounds of 95 apiece.

Upper Sandusky’s Toby Holman shot an 18-hole round of 72 to win tournament medalist honors by three strokes.

The Pirates, playing under head coach Richard Streicher, host the Bluffton Invitational on Monday, Aug. 10 at Hidden Creek Golf Club.
