Pirate boys soccer opens with loss at Shawnee

LIMA __The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost 2-0 in the season opener on Lima Shawnee's turf on Friday night, August 14.
The Pirates start their season 0-1, while Shawnee begins 1-0.
Shawnee led 1-0 at the half and tacked on an insurance goal after intermission to win by two.
Nolan Schroeder and Landon Meas tallied the Indian goals. Logan Vogelsang dished out one assist.
Preston McClendon was credited with saves on two Pirate shots on goal.
Bluffton hosts perennial power Botkins on August 18. The Trojans were 16-3-2 last season and have advanced to the Div. V southwest region semifinals each of the last two years.
The Pirates then visit Archbold Aug. 20.
