Pirate golfers win wet NWC tri

LIMA__The Bluffton High School boys golf team shot well to win a soggy Northwest Conference triangular match at The Oaks Golf Club on Tuesday, August 18.
The Pirates prevailed by shooting a low team score of 172. Lima Central Catholic was 19 strokes behind at 191. Spencerville finished a distant third at 261 shots.
Bluffton’s Caleb Fifer earned match medalist honors by firing a nine-hole score of 39.
With the decisive wins, the Pirates improved to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the NWC. The team is coached by Richard Streicher.
Ethan Fifer shot a 42 to finish second overall. Coby Dailey carded a 45. Gibson Meyer and Landon Byers each posted a round of 46 to round out the Pirate scorers.
Owen Brauen contributed a 56.
Parker Baker led host LCC by posting a round of 45
Spencerville was paced by Jenson Henline, who carded a 59.
