Pirate boys golf sweeps NWC tri

DELPHOS__The Bluffton High School boys golf team went on the road and won a Northwest Conference triangular match on Monday, Aug. 24 at the Delphos Country Club course.
The Pirates shot 178 to beat Lima Central Catholic by nine strokes (187), and they decisively beat host Delphos Jefferson by 41 shots (219).
Bluffton improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with the wins. LCC is 3-4 and 3-2 in league play, while Jefferson drops to 1-8 overall and 1-5 in NWC play after the losses.
Pirate Ethan Fifer earned match medalist notice after carding a round of 42.
Teammate Caleb Fifer tied for second with teammate Gibson Meyer as each shot 44.
Nick Nieman led LCC with a round of 45. Austin Orndorff topped DJ by posting a 48.
The Pirates play at Bellevue on Saturday morning at Woussickette Golf Course in Sandusky.
