Pirates girls soccer blanked by Sylvania

SYLVANIA__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost 7-0 to Sylvania Northview in a non-league match on Saturday, August 29.
The Pirate girls fell to 1-2 with the loss. SN improved to 4-0 after the win.
Sylvania Northview’s Mira Ziemke started the scoring in the fifth minute
The second goal came in the 14th minute. Sophia Schwind made it 3-0 when she scored in the 21st minute
Ziemke tallied back-to-back goals in the 33rd and 35th minutes to extend the lead to 5-0.
SN’s Kealie Kalita tallied in the 50th minute to make it 6-0. Reece Barnaby netted the last goal in the 61st minute.
Bluffton did not get a shot off vs the tough Northview defense.
Sylvania fired 21 of its 26 shots on frame.
Bluffton keeper Maelee Miller was credited with 14 saves in goal.
The Pirate girls play at Spencerville (1-2-1) in the Northwest Conference opener on Tuesday, September 1.
