MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University is making a college education even more affordable for prospective students while encouraging them to experience the university for themselves.

Beginning with students entering in fall 2027, Bluffton is offering a $1,000 annual award to eligible first-time freshmen and transfer students who complete a qualifying on-campus visit by Dec. 15 of the year before they enroll. Students entering in fall 2027 must visit by Dec. 15, 2026, while students entering in fall 2028 must visit by Dec. 15, 2027.

The initiative reflects Bluffton’s commitment to making a high-quality college education accessible while giving students the opportunity to discover what makes the university different firsthand. During a campus visit, students can walk Bluffton’s tree-lined campus, meet professors, connect with current students, explore academic programs and experience the community that helps students feel known and supported.

The $1,000 award is renewable annually for eligible students, providing up to $4,000 over four years for students who meet the award requirements. Students must register their visit with the Admissions Office before arriving on campus. Certain events, including camps, workshops and game days, may not qualify, so students are encouraged to check with their admissions counselor before attending.

For students traveling from a distance, Bluffton also offers a Fly/Drive program to help make visiting campus more accessible. Students who have already visited Bluffton may also qualify for the award based on a previous visit.
