Pirate boys golf splits NWC tri

HARROD__The Bluffton High School boys golf team finished second in a Northwest Conference triangular match at Colonial Hills Golfers Club in Harrod on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The Pirates edged Lima Central Catholic by one shot to run their record to 6-6 and 5-5 in NWC play.

Host Allen East won the close event with 169 strokes, followed by the Pirates (176) and LCC (177).

Bluffton’s Landon Byers was match medalist after shooting a round of 41.

Four players tied for second at 42, three of them Mustangs. AE’s Reese Parker, Conner Clum and Ross Clum tied Thunderbird Nate Warner as each carded a 42.

The Mustangs improved to 11-3 overall and 8-3 in the NWC after the wins. LCC fell to 3-6 and 3-4 in the league.
