MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton University welcomes a new class of students to campus this fall, with incoming students bringing a range of academic interests, athletic talents and connections to Bluffton.

Bluffton’s incoming class includes 62 first-generation college students, continued growth in first-time freshman enrollment and the University’s highest transfer enrollment in six years. Eleven students also have a family connection to Bluffton, with a parent, sibling or grandparent who is a Bluffton alumni.

Students in the incoming class represent nine states, with the majority coming from Ohio. The class includes 119 Ohio students, along with students from Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Iowa, Alabama, Illinois and Pennsylvania. The class also includes one international student.

The most popular areas of study among the incoming class include business, sport management, exercise science, education, nursing and accounting.

“We are excited to welcome this new group of students to Bluffton,” said Claire Kleman, vice president of enrollment and communication. “Each student brings unique experiences, interests and goals to our community, and our faculty and staff are committed to knowing, supporting and equipping them for what comes next.”

The incoming class continues Bluffton’s tradition of preparing students for life as well as vocation through relationships with faculty, hands-on learning and opportunities to connect classroom experiences with future goals.

Graduate programs at Bluffton University also reflect a continued interest in advanced education and professional development. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program welcomed 13 students to its incoming cohort this fall In March 2026, the program achieved initial accreditation for eight years through the Council on Social Work Education, marking a significant milestone for students pursuing careers in social work. The program’s accreditation strengthens opportunities for students to prepare for meaningful careers serving individuals, families and communities.
