Pirates 3-0 in NWC

The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team rallied to defeat rival Columbus Grove in a five-set Northwest Conference marathon on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The Pirate girls improved to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with the 25-18, 23-25, 14-25, 25-9, 15-12 victory. Bluffton leads the NWC after the win.

CG dropped to 6-7 and 2-1 in NWC play after the close home defeat.

Lainey Grandey and Taylin Goldman led the Pirates with 11 kills apiece. Goldman also had three blocks. 

Karlie Lora knocked down 10 kills, made four blocks and hustled up 11 digs.

Camryn Fruchey doled out 22 assists. Adrian Birnesser doled out 14 helpers.

Ari Goings mustered up 13 digs. Gracie Warren had 10 digs and served three aces.

Kari Diller served up four aces.

CG won the JV match, 2-0.

Bluffton plays at Crestview (4-5, 2-0 NWC) on Thursday, Sept. 24.
