The Pirates (5-0 NWC) visit Columbus Grove (8-2, 4-0 NWC) in a showdown for the Northwest Conference title in the Bluffton league finale Monday, October 5.
The two rivals have combined to win the last six NWC titles, with the Pirates taking four crowns and Grove two. Bluffton won it last year by beating CG at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirates top all league teams in NWC titles with seven all-time championships. They have captured five outright crowns and shared two.
A Pirate win over Grove would clinch their sixth outright title. If CG wins, the Bulldogs would seal their third outright league title by beating last-place Crestview (1-9-1, 0-3-1 NWC) on Oct. 12.
