Pirate cross country teams both place 9th at Kalida

KALIDA - The Bluffton High School boys and girls cross country teams each finished ninth at the Kalida Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3.

BOYS RESULTS
Van Wert won the 21-team boys meet with 55 points, followed by Crestview (66) and Bryan (86). The Pirates tallied 332 points.

Sophomore Atticus Prothro finished 27th to post the top Pirate showing with a time of 17:35.4. Junior Levin Essinger came in 30th at 17:40.7. Toby Clevidence crossed the line 59th in 18:30.2.

Sophomore Micah DiMarco ended up 118th in 20:35.3. Freshman Ian Scott took 122nd in 20:45.3.

Crestview junior Derek Young won the 155-runner boys race with a fast time of 15:26.9.

GIRLS RESULTS
The Bluffton girls CC squad also came in ninth among 18 teams at the Kalida Invite held on the Kalida Fish and Game Club course.

Ottawa-Glandorf edged Van Wert 50-54 to capture the girls team crown. Napoleon nipped Lincolnview for third, 129-133.

The Bluffton girls scored 250 points.

Pirate junior Xandra Gatchel finished 11th in a time of 20:05.7 to pace the Bluffton girls.

Sophomore Tessa Tarplee ended up 40th in 21:52.3. Sophomore Georgia Hagen crossed the line 46th in 22:01.5.

Zaeda Hermiller came in 71st with a time of 23:07.9. Tala Gipson ran 136th in 27:10.4. Jora Boisvert ended up 159th in 33:11.8.

Napoleon junior Gwen Huddle captured first in the 162-runner girls race with a time of 17:33.5.
