Trinity Lutheran Church invites the public to attend the following services at 301 North Main Street, Jenera.
Palm Sunday services on April 13 will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m. with Sunday school and Bible class for all ages beginning at 9:20 a.m. Pastor Jeff Bolwerk will preach on the theme “Our Humble King Comes to Save.” The students of Trinity Lutheran School and the adult choir will sing “Hosanna!”
Community Markets and parent company Fresh Encounter, Inc. are doing their part to help alleviate food shortage concerns throughout the state of Ohio by donating over $13,000 to area food banks and shelters.

Joined by current Bluffton pitcher Kayla Owens (left), Haggy performed the ceremonial duty in honor of her mother, Kellee, a cancer victim who passed away last August. When Haggy was playing for Bluffton two years ago, Kellee threw out the first pitch on “Strike Out Cancer” day, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, April 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.
The meal this month is provided by Wednesday Witnesses Small Group. The menu will be scalloped potatoes, ham, green beans, applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage.
Nina Davuluri, the reigning Miss America and the first of Indian-American descent, brought her message of multiculturalism to Bluffton University April 9 as keynote speaker for the university’s annual civic engagement day.
After being crowned Miss America 2014 last September, Davuluri launched “#Circles of Unity,” a social media campaign that seeks to spread multiculturalism and promote diversity. She particularly hopes to become a role model for children and to encourage them to embrace diversity.
