The Bluffton University women's basketball team recovered from a sluggish start to rout Anderson University 83-59 on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. Bluffton solidified its hold on second place in the HCAC, improving to 12-5 and 7-3 in the conference, while Anderson dipped to 8-9 and 5-5 in the Heartland.

Bluffton trailed 8-3 and 10-8 before going up for good at 14-12 when Morgan Smith (Arlington) knocked down a jumper at the 3:46 mark of period one. That started a string of nine straight points for the junior phenom as Bluffton took a 21-17 lead into the second quarter.

Bluffton's Dough Hook Meat Market, 117 N Main St., offered to match customer donations to the Toledo Ronald McDonald House and in the New Year they delivered: $1,400 in frozen meat to help feed families with a child receiving in-patient or out-patient services in the Toledo area.

Parts 2 and 3 of Handel's Messiah

The Bluffton University Department of Music has issued an invitation to choral singers to prepare for and perform in the Masterworks Concert to be given in Yoder Recital Hall on April 10.

The concert will feature parts 2 and 3 of Handel’s “Messiah.” There are a total of 11 rehearsals, one Saturday dress rehearsal and one concert. Masks are required during practices.

Rehearsals will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays each week starting Feb. 1 in the Gilliom Room of Mosiman Hall on campus.

At 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, a public auction will be held at The Community Park Building, 300 Johns Street, Vanlue, Ohio. The auction will include 104.8 +/- acres of farmland in 3 parcels; located in section 19, Amanda Twp., Hancock County, Ohio. The farm is located southwest of Vanlue on CR 1936, 1 mile north of SR 103.

The Village of Bluffton has announced the following public meetings for January and February 2022. The meetings will be held at the Bluffton Town Hall, unless noted.

Over 750 sophomores in Apollo Career Center’s 11-member district will be visiting Apollo during 411Blast, Friday, January 28, 2022. The school is located at 3325 Shawnee Rd, Lima, Ohio.

This day is designed to expose students to possibilities and pathways that are available for their career and/or college success. Students choose two programs of interest and then spend one-half day visiting those labs, meeting the instructors and participating in fun, interactive demos and activities. Two new programs have been added to this year's option. HVAC and Senior-Only Robotics
