Fourth District Congressman Jim Jordan will visit Bluffton on Thursday, March 12, according to Cam Warner, Deputy District Director.

He is available to meet with Bluffton residents at 3 p.m. in Common Grounds coffee shop, 101 S. Main St. His Common Grounds meeting is open to the public.

Rep. Jordan serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs.

Prior to stopping at Common Grounds, he will visit DTR Industries.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bluffton.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Jerry Lewis’ McDonald’s will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. sharp, Saturday, March 28, at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton. 

The Easter egg hunt will take place come rain or shine. There will be no rain date.

Children ages 8 and under are invited to come, hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents take their pictures with the Easter Bunny. 

Rose M. Grzybowski, 77 , died March 9, 2015, at her residence. Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Elizabeth Ann McDowell, 68, died March 7, 2015, at 11:35 pm at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  She  was born Oct. 19, 1946, in Cincinnati to the late Troy and Evelyn (Schoenberger) Phillips.

She had been a secretary in the Bluffton University Athletic Office and later was a chaplain at Sunny Side Village, Sarasota, Fla. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. She volunteered at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. 

She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Glendale, Ohio and Capital University, Bexley, Ohio.

Bluffton's Levi Kistler, a senior, was named to the second team all-Northwest Conference in boys' basketball. Two Pirate teammates were named honorable mention.

Columbus Grove senior Jace Darbyshire was chosen as the 2014-15 NWC Player of The Year by Northwest Conference boys’ basketball coaches at the annual selection meeting in late February. Darbyshire received 113 total points to edge out Connor Lautzenheiser (CV) and Trey Smith (DJ) in the coaches’ voting.
