Bluffton finishes season on the road Friday at Grove

SPENCERVILLE - The visiting Bluffton football team was blanked 35-0 at league co-leader Spencerville in a Northwest Conference blowout Friday night.

Coming off their first league loss, the angry Bearcats stormed to 21 first-period points and tallied 14 more in the second quarter to provide all the points on the night.

The rugged Spencerville defense limited Bluffton to just 49 total yards, while the Bearcat offense rolled up 381 yards. It was the first shutout of the season for both teams.  

Donald J. Hartman, 78, died Oct. 26, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.  Donald was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Cecil and Esther Hartman. He was married to Ruth Hartman and she preceded him in death.

Donald had worked for 18 years at Clark Equipment and later at Shady Lawn Truck Stop in Elkton, Tennessee, where he serviced truck tires.

TIFFIN - The top-seeded Bluffton boys soccer team defeated previously unbeaten Riverdale 1-0 in overtime in Div. III district final action at Tiffin Columbian's Frost-Kalnow Stadium on a rainy, cool Saturday evening.

Urology team will soon offer outreach in Bluffton

Mercy Health has announced the expansion and enhanced access to urology care in the Lima region with the addition of new urological specialists at St. Rita’s Medical Center.  

Bradley Buck, MD, Daniel Murtagh, MD; Omar Khan, MD, and Hesham Mostafa, MD; have partnered with Ignacio Sarmina, MD, and the team at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Urology. 

Arsenic and Old Lace university’s fall drama

 Dark comedy plays a central role in Bluffton University’s fall play, “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring. The play centers around theatre critic Mortimer Brewster, whose charming and charitable aunts have an unusual ministry – helping lonely boarders to their heavenly rest by serving poisoned elderberry wine.
