Join a local folk ensemble Silver Threads among the Gold perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Bluffton Public Library, for a set of ballads, both traditional and modern.
"We'll sing you stories of explorers, cross-dressers, soldiers, piccolo players, truck drivers, cowboys and coal miners set to an underlying accompaniment of haunting fiddle tunes and hymns,” said Wendy Chappell-Dick, a member of the group.
Medicare 101 with the Allen County Council On Aging (ACCOA) is on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m on the library’s lower level.
Admission is free and advanced registration is requested. Representatives will share helpful information for those preparing to sign up for Medicare this year, with time for questions.

Backyard Birding with Naturalist Dan Hodges is on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. on the lower level of the library. Please register in advance so that the library can plan accordingly for seating. Free and open to adults and families (children must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
Bluffton Public Library is ready for the holidays.
Its annual holiday gift silent auction starts Friday morning, Nov. 1, and continues through Monday evening, Nov. 25.
"This is a wonderful way to get your holiday shopping done all while benefiting your library and its community," said Jessica Hermiller, library administrator.
All packages will include a minimum bid and feature a special “Buy Now” price if a patron is ready to take it home at that time.
