Bluffton University’s junior nutrition students will host the 2019 Lunch and Learn series from Feb. 13 to April 17 on the first floor of Berky Hall. BLUFFTON, Ohio—Bluffton University will host an instrumental concert featuring its Concert Band at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Under the direction of Dr. Roy Couch, assistant professor of music, the concert band will perform recent works that showcase different approaches to wind band composing.
Dr. Perry Bush, professor of history at Bluffton University, will present “Different Decisions of Conscience: Mennonite Combatants, Noncombatants and Objectors in Ohio, 1916-19,” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, in Marbeck Center’s Kreider Room.
The presentation will provide some general background on historic peace churches on the eve of World War One; the factors that influenced the decisions of young Mennonite, Quaker and Brethren young men concerning the draft; and the persecution that both draftees and peace-church congregations suffered because of their nonresistance stance.
From Feb. 17 through March 31, Bluffton University will host the traveling exhibit “Voices of Conscience” in Musselman Library.
This dramatic exhibit remembers the witness of peace-minded people against the First World War from 1914-1918 and immerses visitors in the historical experience of witnessing for peace during “total war.”

Bluffton University will host the #SameHere Sit-Down, an interactive event produced by the Global Mental Health Alliance: “We’re All A Little Crazy” from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.
Held in Founders Hall, the event features opportunities for candid and revealing conversations with boxing champion Eric Kelly, DJ Archie Green and the founder of the #SameHere movement Eric Kussin.
