Several events open to the public are on the Bluffton University September calendar. Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted:
Sept. 9 Colloquium: “Arts Advocacy through Performance, Research and Outreach,” Friday Colloquium by Lucia Unrau, professor of music, 4 p.m., Stutzman Lecture Hall
Sept. 11 Art Exhibit: Reception with artists Laura Barnhardt-Corle and Valerie Escobedo, 1-3 p.m., Sauder Visual Arts Center
“Structural Evidence,” an exhibition of work from Valerie Escobedo and Laura Barnhardt-Corle, will kick off the 2016-17 schedule in Bluffton University’s Grace Albrecht Gallery, located in the Sauder Visual Arts Center.
Opening Aug. 29, the exhibit is free and open to the public through Sept. 22. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A reception for the artists will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University has named Adam Craig as head golf coach. Craig will be responsible for setting up the men’s and women’s program as well as recruiting during the 2016-17 academic year with team competition to begin the following year.
Bluffton University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), an educational program for retirees, is offering six courses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 19-Oct. 27.
Each course costs $50; the cost to take two or more courses is $100. Registration and, if applicable, course fees are due at the time of registration. Sept. 15 is the deadline to register.
