The Bluffton University Nutrition Association (BUNA) will hold its annual fall dinner, benefiting both the Bluffton Community Assistance Corp. and the Lima-based Churches United Pantry, from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton.
This year’s dinner will include homemade soup, bread and dessert. Nonperishable food items will be accepted, as will cash and checks made payable to BUNA. All proceeds will benefit the two food pantries.

At the same time, Bluffton senior Tricia Latimer will discuss her research on cell-collagen interactions as part of the “First Tuesday at the Library” series in the Musselman Library Reading Room.
Both presentations are free and open to the public.
Dr. Ross Kauffman, an assistant professor of public health at Bluffton University, will introduce virtual reality to participants in an Oct. 30 campus colloquium. His presentation will begin at 4 p.m. in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall.
Kauffman will first provide an overview of the technology’s history and describe his summer 2015 efforts to create virtual worlds, funded by a grant from the Bluffton University Research Center.
The Bluffton University Social Work Club is sponsoring a canned food drive during the village of Bluffton’s trick-or-treat time on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Social work students will canvass the village from 6-7:30 p.m. asking for canned food instead of candy. All food donations will go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Corp. food pantry.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Beavers traveled to Mount St. Joseph for their final mid-week matchup against the Lions on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Bluffton improved to 7-1 in the Heartland Conference and 16-12 overall. With the victory, the Beavers secured the #2 seed and a first round bye in the upcoming HCAC tournament. Bluffton will play the winner of the #3/#6 matchup next Saturday, Nov. 7 at Hanover College.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Despite having the advantage at the break, the Bluffton University men’s soccer team fell in a hard fought battle with the Mount St Joseph Lions by a final tally of 2-1 on a rainy Wednesday, Oct. 28. The win bumps the Lions record to 7-9-1 and 1-6-1 in the Heartland Conference, while the Beavers fell to 0-14-2 and 0-6-2 in HCAC play.
