Take a gun. Hammer it into a plowshare. Call it art.
That’s the premise of “From Swords to Plowshares: Our Process of Transformation,” art and poetry exhibit at Albrecht Gallery in the Sauder Art Center at Bluffton University.

The exhibit is open Thursdays through Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. now July 30.
It is organized in response to guns into garden tools program held on campus during the Central District Conference MCUSA annual meeting on June 22.
You've heard him at the Bluffton Farmers' Market. Jim Boedicker, local performer, will be at the Saturday Ride to Remember from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. He will perform as bike riders return from their routes.
Boedicker will perform in the small shelter house at the Main Street side of the Buckeye.
In addition, The Dough Hook will sell lunches to riders and the general public. The Dough Hook will have lunches available in the shelterhouse.

If you missed watching fireworks on July 4th, it's no problem. Icon photographer Ken Collins, took photos of the Fourth of July celebration at Faurot Park in Lima.
One of the musical groups at the event was the Lima Area Concert Band, which draws its members from Ada and Bluffton and beyond.
Before the fireworks, some folks were sending Chinese sky lanterns floating into the sky over Lima.
Fireworks, rides, and food were other attractions.
Icon viewers are invited to a princess pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, in the Beaverdam-Richland Township Fire Department.
The breakfast is a fund-raiswer for Keanna (age 4) and Jayden (age 3) Vogel. Both girls are raising money to participate in the Sunburst International Beauty Pageant in Atlanta, Ga., later this year.
The menu includes princess pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles, sausage, milk, orange juice and coffee.
Tickets at the door are $7 for adults, $5 for youth ages 3-12, and free for youth 2 and under.
