This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Ada Harvest and Herb Fest. This year's event is Saturday, Sept. 19, in downtown Ada. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event.

Bridge Bereavement Services is hosting a showing of the movie “Inside Out” on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Shannon Theater, 119 S. Main St., Bluffton. This showing is the first movie in a new cinema therapy program for children and adults offered by Bridge Bereavement.

Pages of Piety, an exhibit of rare books reflecting the Swiss Mennonite spiritual heritage, is part of the Sunday Aug. 30, events celebrating the 175th anniversary of the founding of the first Mennonite church in the Bluffton-Pandora Swiss Settlement.

Curated by Carrie Phillips, the exhibit is open to the public at Ebenezer Mennonite Church on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

Theory Expats will perform in tonight's (Thursday, Aug. 20) Town Hall Concert Series. The performance is at 7 p.m. on the third floor, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.

She describes the group this way: "Theory Expats are a folksy swingin' band based in Goshen, Ind., featuring Andrew Pauls, Ethan Setiawan and Sadie Gustafson-Zook.

The Arlington Boy Scout Troop 318 will hold at hog roast from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Arlington Park.

Tickets are $8. Meals are for both take out or eat at the park. Meals include a dessert and drink in addition to the main course.

 

FROM ADA ICON - The 102nd annual Ada Farmers’ and Merchants’ Picnic takes place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8 in the War Memorial Park.
