The three-day annual Lincoln Highway Buy-Way across America yard sale began in Ada on Thursday morning amid sunny skies.

A tent along Main Street in the Railroad Park will be manned during the sale by the Ada chamber and C.I.C. members, the local sponsoring organizations.

In addition to handing out the maps, people visiting the tent can also find Ada sesquicentennial books and yardsticks.

A Back-to-School Carnival will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the playground of Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera.

The event is open to the public and includes games, relay races, prizes and snacks as students get back into the swing of the school year.

The popular local band, Brother Believe Me, will perform at the Party on the Back 40 at the year's Farmers and Merchants Picnic in Ada. The local band will perform from 8 p.m. until midnight on Saturday. There is $3 cover charge.
