Bluffton/Pandora Youth for Christ Campus Life will hold a chicken barbecue on the evening of the Bluffton - Pandora-Gilboa High School football scrimage.
The barbecue is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in The Campus Life Room, 111 W. College Ave., Bluffton. Tickets are $7.50 (includes chicken, green beans, potato, and roll) and tickets are now on sale through Aug. 18 at The Sports Warehouse in Bluffton and Riley Creek Pharmacy in Pandora.
Sea Captain James Riley will visit the Bridenbaugh School, rural Pandora Saturday, Aug. 9. According, Dr. Darrell Groman, local authority on Captain Riley, the famous captain will lead a discussion at 10 a.m.

Beaverdam Volunteer Fire and Rescue will host its 59th annual Summerfest from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9.
The event features homemade food, games, live band (Chez Cheese), safety demonstrations and a raffle drawing for grand prizes and door prizes.
This year's prizes include a 4-foot Poly Glider, Stainless Steel Kenmore Grill, Air Hockey Table, $300 Meijer gift card, Inflatable Bounce House and an Ohio State campfire ring.
There will also be live chain saw carving by On Track Carvings.
The 6th annual Rally Point River Ride takes place in Lima Saturday, Aug. 9.
Many families with young children come to particapate in the 20-mile ride based off the Rotary River Walk in Lima. Young bikers and parents with trailers take off from Heritage Park for a 10-mile ride to Ottawa Metro Park.
Krysti’s Music Studio presents its seventh annual Krysti’s/Campus Life performation from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Bluffton Farmers’ Market.
The event is a fundraiser for Bluffton-Pandora Youth for Christ/Campus Life program.
“You may come and go as you like,” said Krysti Schey. “There will be continual musical entertainment throughout the event provided by my students.”
