Chamber fundraiser

Tickets are now on sale in Bluffton for a one-time performance of "Driving Miss Daisy."

"Driving Miss Daisy" March 9 presentation is chamber fundraiser

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Driving Miss Daisy,” a drama by Alfred Uhry, performed by the Van Wert Civic Theatre, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at The Centre, Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.

Tickets are $10 each and are available in Bluffton at Greg’s Pharmacy, Village Cut ‘n’ Curl and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting the Bluffton chamber at [email protected]. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.

Beheading’ reveals real J. Denny(s)

Bluffton University mascot J. Denny Beaver is one busy beaver, as appearances at about 70 events (and counting) this academic year would attest J. Denny is so in demand, in fact, that it has taken three Bluffton students to perform his duties.

Their identities were revealed at halftime of the men’s basketball game on Feb. 13, during a “beheading” ceremony that traditionally marks the only time that college mascots remove their costume heads in public.

Happy Valentine's Day

Jocelyn Urbanczke peeks over her Valentine's mail box at the Bluffton Child Development Center. Jocelyn, in the pre-kindergarten class, made her Valentine boxe on Feb. 14 at the Center to celebrate the day. She is the daughter of Sara and Justin Urbanczke of Bluffton.

Bluffton Senior Center holds craft supply and garage sale

The Bluffton Senior Center will be holding it's Craft Supply and Garage Sale on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23.

The craft supply sale will include sewing notions, wood, fabric, patterns, buttons, beads, ribbon, lace, kits and much more.  

The hours for the event each day will be:
Friday, Feb. 22 - 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.,
Saturday, Feb. 23 - 9 a.m.- noon.

The Bluffton Senior Center is located at 132 N. Main St.
