Presidential campaigns, elections topic of seminar

Jim Taylor, an adjunct faculty member at the University of Findlay, will discuss history of American presidential campaigns and elections from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the Kreider Room of Bluffton University’s Marbeck Center.

Taylor’s presentation is the third annual history seminar hosted by Bluffton’s Institute for Learning in Retirement. Admission is free for registered students in ILR winter classes and $3 for others, payable at the door.

Pete Steiner was a 1955 graduate of Bluffton High School

David  "Pete" L. Steiner, 75,  died  on Feb. 24, 2013, at his residence. On April 3, 1937 he was born in Bluffton to Oliver R. and Helen L. Mumma Steiner, who proceeded him in death. On July 29, 1956, he married Nancy S. Andrews  who survives in Bluffton.

Pete was a 1955 graduate of the Bluffton High School. He had worked for 37 years at the Lima Ford Engine Plant and retired in 1995 at the age of 57. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bluffton.

It resembles a sign from Roman antiquities. Yet, it's in Bluffton, and you've stepped over it lots of time. Maybe you never looked down. It's there. But where?

Possible study of State Route 103 corridor from Main to interstate in the works

Jamie Mehaffie, Bluffton village administrator, will update Bluffton council on a possible study of the State Route 103 corridor from Main to the interstate. HIs update will take place at Monday's council meeting.

Mehaffie said, “After having initial discussion with the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission I had a preliminary meeting with an engineering firm last week. The meeting was to consider a study of the State Route 103 corridor from Main Street to Interstate 75.”
