Swiss Historical Society celebrates 50th

Swiss Day, held on Sunday, June 27, this year celebrated both the 50th anniversary of the Bluffton-Pandora Swiss Community Historical Society and the completion of restoration work on its historic Schumacher House at the Swiss Homestead on Bixel Road.

Block foundation will begin at hospital construction site

Bluffton Hospital construction update for the week of June 28 has been announced.

Contractors will be laying block foundation and plumbing for the new surgery area near the corner of Garau and Harmon Road.

The fine grade of the new parking lot at Harmon Road and Kibler Street will be completed.

Weather permitting, concrete pour may begin for the new Harmon Road/Kibler Street parking lot later this week. This will make some areas of the Harmon Road parking lot unavailable.

The Icon spotted this at the Putnam County Fair. You can't spell every town in Ohio on a license plate. If you can, you must think quickly, before someone else gets the idea.

Shirley's Popcorn, Bluffton, is donating a percentage of its July, August and September sales to the Bluffton Public Library's "Buck$ for Book$" campaign.
