Carol A. Shapter, 74, died Sept. 19, 2019, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born July 24, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Robert and Lemoyne (Lochner) Crail. On July 29, 1967, she married James Shapter who survives in Bluffton.
Carol graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1963. She started working in 1965 for Auto Owner's Insurance in Lima and retired in 2004 where she was a senior underwriter. Carol had been a paramedic at Elida Fire and Rescue. She was an avid quilter and belonged to various quilting guilds.

Retired Bluffton elementary teacher, Geneva Shetler, 100, died surrounded by family on Sept. 13, 2019, at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.

Geneva was born on a farm near Archbold, Ohio, and graduated from Archbold High School in 1936. She attended Goshen College, Indiana, where she met her husband-to-be, Luther Shetler. They were married on Dec. 22, 1940.
Geneva M. Shetler, 100, of Bluffton died Sept. 13, 2019, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, followed by a memorial luncheon at First Mennonite Church in Bluffton. H. Ellen McCullough, 80, died Sept. 5, 2019, at 10:50 p.m. at St. Rita's Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf. Ellen was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Gilboa, Ohio to the late Cornelius Jay and Doris (Eck) Dearth. On October 10, 1934 she married Larry McCullough who survives in Gilboa.
Ellen graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School in 1956. She had worked in various offices as an administrative assistant. Ellen was an active member of the Gilboa United Methodist Church and also the Red Hat Society.
Donald Dwight Spar, 96, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at Otterbein Cridersville.
Don was born March 29, 1923, in Ada, Ohio, to the late David Dayle and Lucille Ada (Barnes) Spar of Ada, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Karl, Ralph "Flip" and sister Mary Edith (Spar) Frederick. On July 19, 1945, he married Esther M. Hochstettler of Bluffton, Ohio.
