Dozens of mask styles are modeled by Bluffton Icon viewers at the bottom of this story.
Bluffton’s latest fashion statement quickly caught on in the past two weeks.
Cloth face coverings, aka, masks, may be more functional than decorative, however, that doesn’t keep Icon viewers to be creative when making their mask statement.
And, as viewed in the photos in this feature, masks are not limited to humans. You'll find a dog and a teddy bear wearing masks here.
Bluffton council approved two EMS promotions on Monday.
Jan Basinger, EMS chief, recommended to move Holly Bertka from assistant chief to captain and to move Rick Skilliter to assistant chief.
Basinger told council:
“Holly is a valuable officer and handles secretarial work and is treasurer of the department.”
“Rick has been doing our training for years and this requires many hours of work and he has never been compensated for it. He is a tremendous help through this pandemic and is a very valuable resource to the community.”
How did you do in the Weird Bluffton scavenger hunt?
Thanks for a contest created by Bluffton resident Ron Headings, the Icon invited viewers to find the location of 17 items in which clues were provided.
Each of the items could be seen within the boundaries of:
• Riley Street on the northeast
• Riley Creek on the southeast
• Kibler Street on the southwest
• Spring Street-Campus Drive on the northwest
You can now find 80 teddy bears in the windows of the Bluffton community. It's more like a zoo, because there are several other stuffed animals, such as frogs, llamas and even a monkey or two.

Larry Core, former Bluffton village administrator, is the 2019 Bluffton Lions Club Citizen of the Year, according to the club’s selection committee.
Core, a life-long Bluffton resident and Bluffton High School graduate, has served in several community project and organizations, both behind the scene and as a major player.
Perhaps his greatest village accomplishment was his untiring devotion to bringing DTR (today SumiRiko Ohio) to the village.
He also played an instrumental role in assisting GROB Systems to locate in Bluffton.
Krysti Schey shares these photos of students having Krysti's Music Studio music lessons, in Krysti's words, " We’re happily rolling along 'virtually' as normal!"
She adds that "just for fun we’re doing a daily 'live' from our Facebook page at 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays."
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays is a kid's sing-along.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays is piano background music.
