15 minutes with Katlyn Bates

You graduated from BHS this spring. Now what?

I've enrolled at Wright State University, Dayton, where I plan to major in nursing. I want to become an R.N. and then a nurse practitioner.

So, when is your last day at Common Grounds, and how much coffee do you drink in one day?

My last day is Saturday, Aug. 27, and no, I've actually never had any coffee in the two years that I've worked there. I do, however, like lattes.

Raymond Harner with his Colnago Campagnolo 10-speed

The Icon visited Raymond Harner's CG Pro Bike Shop in Columbus Grove this week. The shop is an Icon advertiser and, according Harner, the shop has attracted a large number of Bluffton area customers because of advertising on The Icon.

Our visit to the shop was to learn first-hand what Harner has to offer. We weren't disappointed. CG Pro Bike, located at 18550 State Route 65, just south of Columbus Grove, is a small-town biker's dream.

Maple Crest goes on safari and listens to beautiful music

Twelve Maple Crest residents recently took the short country drive to Columbus Grove, along with Debbie Mohr, the Maple Crest activities coordinator and Ana Carnauba, a summer assistant from Rhodes State College to visit a museum.

That sounds like an ordinary sort of outing, but as the visitors slipped through the back door of the old brick building, they were transported into the Savannah of Africa!
