Two life-long Bluffton volunteers will be honored during this year's Blaze of Lights.

John Murray, long-time Bluffton resident and member of the Bluffton sesquicentennial committee, will be the 2011 Blaze of Lights parade marshal, according to Terry Mullenhour, chairperson of the Bluffton Village Cultural Affairs Committee.

The Blaze is Saturday, Nov. 26. This year's parade is at 5 p.m. The Ream lights turn on at 7 p.m.

The winner of Week 9 (Icon's first contest of the season) of the Icon NFL Football Contest is Duane Bollenbacher. Duane accumlated 8 points this week.

Other contestants:
7 points - Jared Lehman and Philip Keeler.
6 points - Andy Althaus, Becky Warren, Ben Reineke, Drake Luginbuhl, Jim Dillman and John Clevidence.
5 points - Angela Palte, Dan Smith, David Glick, Don Luginbuhl, James Crawfis, Lyle Arnold and Mike Burris.
4 points - Jerry Cupples and Nancy Armour.
3 points - Adelyn Althuas and Mark Sommers.

The winner of The Bluffton Icon's Week 10 College Football Contest is James Crawfis. James and Duane Bollenbacher both accumulated 9 points this week. James was declared the winner by virtue of the 1st tie-breaker.

A discussion of Tatiana de Rosnay's book "Sarah's Key" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, Nov. 28, at 2:30 p.m. Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton.

Copies of the book may be requested at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Larry Hoffman

Larry Hoffman, CFO at The First National Bank of Pandora, recently graduated from the 2011 OBL Bank Management School sponsored by the Ohio Bankers League.

Hoffman was one of 28 bankers who completed the intensive one-week program in September.

Bluffton University's Loaded Baked Potato soup was the diner's choice at the Nov. 4 Maple Crest Senior Living Village soup cook-off.

Over 150 persons samples soups from seven Bluffton area restaurants and then voted on their favorites.

The top three vote-getters were:

1 - Bluffton University's Loaded Baked Potato soup
2 - Rossilli's (of Findlay) Corn and Crab chowder
3 - The Dough Hook's chili soup
