Christian Groman, who grew up in Bluffton, Ohio and is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Ohio Northern University, spoke to the Icon about his family members who live in western Ukraine and their experiences since the invasion by Russian forces began on February 24, 2022. Some 1.5 million Ukrainians have fled the county at the time of this report.
Icon: Are your family members still in their own homes?
Groman: My grandparents live in western Ukraine, 15 minutes from the Hungarian border…. But they are housing three families from eastern Ukraine.

Bluffton Boy Scout Troop 256 distributed bright yellow door hang tags throughout Bluffton on March 5 as part of the Scouting for Food, A National Good Turn for America program. The collection will benefit the Bluffton Food Pantry, which is located within St. John's United Church-Christ, 223 W College Ave.

Rachael E. Lewis, Orchestra Director/Music Therapist for Bluffton Exempted Village Schools reports that the High School orchestra earned a Superior rating at OMEA State Orchestra Adjudicated Event on Friday, Feb. 25 at Perrysburg High School.
On Saturday, January 15, after a two-year hiatus, nearly 400 Black Swamp Area Council Boy Scouts competed in the 2022 Klondike Derby at Camp Lakota in Defiance. Thirty-two patrols participated in the event, including Bluffton's Tropp 256 and Troop 29G from Edgerton, the first female patrol to participate in a Black Swamp Area Council Klondike Derby.
