Bluffton man convicted of felony domestic violence

Bluffton police report that Jeremy Ernest, 28, was recently convicted of felony domestic violence in the Allen County Common Pleas Court. The conviction stemmed from a March 13, 2013, incident in the 500 block of S. Main St., according to a news announcement from the Bluffton Police Department.

Police officers responded to an initial call for assistance by neighbors reporting what sounded like a dispute. Upon further investigation, officers determined a domestic violence incident had occurred between two occupants in an adjacent apartment.

-Police responded to a domestic dispute at a Railroad St. Residence.

-Officers located two young juveniles who were walking along N. Main St.  Officers located the juveniles and found that they had run away from home.  Their parents were contacted and the children were returned unharmed.

-Police assisted with an unruly patient at the Bluffton Hospital.

Man in custody in Family Dollar and Mustard Seed Cafe break-ins

Bluffton police were busy earlier this week as two businesses were broken into. The follow account is from Sgt. Matt Oglesbee of the police department:

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 29, Bluffton police officers responded to breaking and entering complaints at the Mustard Seed Café on North Main Street and the Family Dollar on Cherry Street.

April 1
-A Railroad Street resident reported unknown persons had caused damage to his vehicle.  
April 3
-Police responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the 9000 block of N. Dixie Hwy.  Hannah Bell, 16, Bluffton was cited for Improper Starting and Backing.  The case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court. 
April 6
-A N. Jackson St. resident reported that a white truck pulling a red trailer had driven into his yard and caused damage to his landscaping.

-Police assisted the Highway Patrol with a vehicle pursuit that was SB on I-75.

-Police responded to a Breaking and Entering complaint at a Thurman St. residence.

-A S. Main St. resident reported that her live in boyfriend was making threats toward her and had assaulted her in the past.
